Everything you need to know about Finance Tracker

The Dashboard is your weekly overview. It summarises mileage, hours worked, receipts, and transactions for the selected week and compares them against the previous week. Below the weekly summary, a separate charts section shows trends across a longer rolling period.

Week Tabs

Use the week tabs at the top to jump between weeks. The range shown drives the stat cards, income/expense balance, and "Week at a Glance" comparison — but not the charts (which have their own period selector).

Stat Cards

Total DistanceSum of all trip distances (business + personal) for the week.
Hours WorkedNet time worked after deducting break minutes logged in Time Tracking.
Receipt SpendTotal of all receipt amounts logged in the selected week.
Trips LoggedCount of mileage trips, with personal distance shown underneath.
Est. EarningsVisible only when an hourly rate is set in Settings. Calculated as net hours × hourly rate.

Income / Expense Balance

Appears when at least one transaction exists in the period. Shows total income (money in), total expenses (money out), and net balance. Each card includes a percentage-change badge comparing the current week to the previous week.

Quick Actions

Shortcuts that perform actions directly on the dashboard without navigating away. Available shortcuts:

Log TripOpens a mini form to log a mileage trip — business/personal toggle, date, from/to locations, start and end mileage, purpose.
Clock In / Clock OutInstantly clocks in or out. The label updates to reflect whether you are currently clocked in. Clocking out from here is the same as using the widget below.
Add ReceiptOpens a mini form to save a receipt — optional photo upload with OCR auto-fill, date, merchant, amount, and category.
Scan ReceiptSame as Add Receipt but immediately opens the camera or file picker so OCR runs first.
TransactionOpens a mini form for an income or expense entry — income/expense toggle, date, amount, category, and description.
Track TripOpens the live GPS trip tracker in a modal right on the dashboard — capture your start location, odometer, vehicle and type without leaving the page. When a trip is running the tile turns into "End Trip".
Log FuelOpens a mini form to log a fuel fill-up — vehicle selector, date, fuel type, litres, total cost, and odometer.
Time EntryNavigates to the Time Tracking page.

Tap the pencil icon next to "Quick actions" to open the shortcut picker. Toggle any button on or off — your selection is saved in the browser and persists across sessions.

Clock In / Out Widget

Lets you start or stop a time entry directly from the dashboard without visiting the Time page. The Clock In quick action above does the same thing.

Week at a Glance

A compact summary table of all tracked metrics, followed by a vs prev week comparison section showing percentage change for each figure.

Charts

Four charts sit below the weekly summary and use their own independent period selector — choose 30 days, 3 months, 6 months, year-to-date, or 12 months. Charts update immediately when you switch period.

Income vs ExpensesStacked area chart showing daily or weekly income and expenses over the period, with a net balance total above it.
Business MileageBar chart of business miles driven per day or week.
Hours WorkedBar chart of net hours worked per day or week. Shows estimated earnings alongside if an hourly rate is set.
Spending by CategoryDonut chart with a legend showing how total spending is split across categories. Includes both transactions (out) and receipts.

For ranges over 14 days the charts automatically switch to weekly buckets to keep the data readable.

Customising the Layout

Each section on the dashboard can be reordered by drag and drop. Click the Locked button in the top-right of the dashboard to enter edit mode — a grip handle appears on each section. Drag sections into your preferred order, then click Editing to lock the layout. The order is saved in your browser and persists across sessions.

Switch on Privacy Mode (the eye icon on the account page) to mask all monetary values — useful when sharing your screen.
